It's all about what YOU want

The focus of gofromhere.com isn't money. Instead it's focused on YOU, with the clear purpose of providing a valuable website that helps you find your way around the internet better.

The site is primarily driven by the feedback received from users. So if you think there is a website that we should be linking to, a site that you think others may find useful, then all you have to do is tell us about it. Once we've reviewed the site, if it's suitable, it'll be added.

What about the money?

gofromhere.com is privately owned and run by Simon Jones. There are no staff to pay, no board members to suck up to, and no shareholders to please. This means that you can be sure that the reviews of the search engines are all done free of any financial bias. Similarly the sites that are linked to are also chosen not for the money that they put on the table, but for the worth they bring to the site.

On the right of each page there are links to 'recommended sites.' These are essentially ads, and while we are open to placing paid ads in this space, we are under no financial burden to do so. At this time the 'ads' that occupy that space have NOT paid to be there. Webmaster, Simon Jones, uses this space to promote his own Meanwhile website, as well as other websites that are, as the heading suggests, 'recommended.'

Also on the right hand site you will see the heading 'make a difference'. Under this are graphical links to sites that provide humanitarian and charitable services throughout the world. If you find gofromhere.com useful then we would like to encourage you to support these charities.

A friendly place

gofromhere.com was created with the specific intention of being set as a 'home page' or 'start page'. In other words the first page that you see when you startup your web browser. If you do end up setting the site as your home page, then feel free to say 'Hi,' and remember, this site is driven by your feedback. Don't forget, the site was made by real people who appreciate nice email just as much as you do :-)

The road ahead

It's our intention to keep things simple. We're not looking to conquer the world. As the traffic to the site (and therefore the workload) increase, we may look for alternative ways to fund the continued development of the site. However you can be assured that this will not mean that we're about to sell our souls to the devil and plaster the site with lots of garish and distracting ads or pop-ups. We will steadfastly refuse to make any change that does not offer a benefit to the users of the site.

In 2005 we introduced our first regional version of the site in the form of gofromhere.co.uk. Other regional versions may appear in the future, though at this time there is no set timetable for any such developments.

By always placing the interests of the user first, we hope to build a loyal user-base that will grow through word of mouth from one satisfied user to another. And remember this site is built for YOU so if there is a site or service you think we should inclide or link to, then please tell us!
