Michael KochAdding an air of international status to gofromhere.com is German, Michael Koch, who now lives and works in the UK.

A freelance IT consultant mainly working in the area of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (SAP R/3) and eCommerce, Michael was the brains behind the extensive re-engineering of the entire gofromhere.com website, which is now written in CSS driven XHTML thanks to his hard work.

The collaboration between Michael and Simon was formed after the pair got to know one another through the MacAssist Mac users forum where Michael posts under the name 'Pichel'.

In the summer of 2004 Michael was asked to write an article for the popular DMXzone website, a site for website developers. His first chosen subject to tackle was a 'how to' on converting a table based HTML document into standards compliant CSS driven XHTML. But for the article Michael needed an example site to convert.

After chatting with Simon it was agreed that gofromhere.com, a site that was still only at that stage 'on the drawing board', would be the example for Michael's article. Simon created the site using HTML table and then Michael re-engineered the code from the ground up building a site that looked essentially the same, but that was quite different underneath. (See the old site and Michael's re-engineered version.)

Living near Birmingham with his wife and daughter, Michael is very much a proud father and family man. His stylish (and standards compliant) blog entitled 'Just to let you know' is, according to him, his world through german/british glasses. Check out some of Michael's work below.
